Couples Workout on Bayshore

Chris and I love to workout but it's rare that we take it outside since it's so hot here. The weather has been so perfect lately so we grabbed our usual at Starbucks and headed for Bayshore Boulevard. Bayshore has a 4.5 mile continuous sidewalk that runs along the water and there are always people running, biking, and using the workout stations. It's also home to Tampa's big Gasparilla parade and the Gasparilla Distance Classic.

Oscar de la Renta

Oscar de la Renta was well loved, both personally and professionally. Every person who was fortunate enough to meet and work with him only had the best things to say about his character and his talent. He was so elegant and he truly understood not only how women want to look but how they want to feel. He was one of the last truly great fashion legends to have studied under the amazing European couturiers of the Golden Age of fashion. Mr. de la Renta always said that he considered Cristobal Balenciaga as his mentor.

His designs were impeccable and absolute perfection. He was a visionary and a taste maker and the world was lucky to have him. He was bold in life and in fashion, always willing to bet on himself. His body of work is huge and will influence generations of designers and women forever. His legacy is so much more than fabric, sketches, and beautiful gowns. Oscar de la Renta made women feel confident and allowed them to express who they were in how they dressed. It's an incredible gift to be able to make a person feel like their best self.

Thank you Oscar de la Renta for making the world a more beautiful place. There will never be another one like you!

Here is a bit of Oscar's work and thoughts:

Faux Leather Leggings and a Statement Bow

I've been having so much fun lately wearing my favorite fall pieces! It's not full on sweater and jeans weather so I'm mixing some of my breezier staple pieces with warmer options like this jersey top with a big bow and these faux leather leggings by Hue from Nordstrom. I love a good statement bow!

These leggings are so versatile - you really can use them as a base for a casual or more dressy look or something in between. The faux leather looks so nice up close and not at all "Grease lighting" or inexpensive. They also have pockets in the back so you don't feel so bare if your top isn't tunic length. The best part is that you kind of feel like you're cheating because you look so put together but you feel like you're wearing yoga pants!
